A: This is a liver biopsy specimen of cirrhosis from a 50 year-old woman with a history of chronic alcoholism. There is a predominance of iron staining (grade 4) in hepatocytes, and prominent staining of bile ductile cells. Micronodular cirrhosis and moderate-severe steatosis were also present.
