A patient with poorly controlled type-2 diabetes comes in with complaints of pain, swelling and erythema in both feet. What is the diagnosis and what tests should be done to confirm?

1 comment:

  1. The patient presents with Charcot feet. Charcot arthopathy is characterized by the damage of bones and joints in the feet of individuals with peripheral neuropathy. The most common cause of Charcot foot is diabetic neuropathy in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Radiographs would confirm the collapsed arches and erosion within the midfoot joints.
